The consensus is, because of margin pressure, ODMs will enter the US market directly sell notebooks and desktops to retailers and the general public1. This phenomenon is not limited to PC ODMs. Consumer Electronics ODMs are looking at the US Market, the largest consumer electronics market in world, as their next growth opportunity. Additionally, ODMs are attracted to direct sales because they can get their designs out in the market earlier.

The down side to entering the market directly is that PCs, handhelds, MP3/4 players and other high technology products are becoming more and more commodity-like. If consumers can't tell the diffrence how do they choose? Consensus says what really matters are the intangibles such as warranty and service and technical support after the sale. ODMs are painfully learning that the key lever for competitive differentiation and profits is aftermarket support. Tim Minahan, VP of Supply Chain Research writes "Aftermarket service is key to securing customer loyalty and maintaining competitive differentiation".

Unfortunately ODMs/OEMs find themselves without the necessary resource or expertise to fullfill the aftermarket needs of their customers. That's where Blue Raven Technology can help.

For almost a quarter century, Blue Raven has set the standard for superior after-market services and electronic repair of technology products including notebook and desktop computers and, more recently, iPods, gaming consoles, hind end consumer electronics and commercial electronics.
